We believe all women should have access to solo safety information

We have a different business model than other websites, because of our 30-year history in women’s solo travel and our belief that all women should have access to information about safe solo travel. We don’t charge for our editorial or ask women to pay a membership fee to access our articles.

We are a small team of women, in service to women — and our editorial is written by women, for women. We are not a non-profit and support the operation of our website through generous donations from our readers, advertising revenue from the women-friendly tour and retreat businesses listed in our Women’s Travel Directory, pay-what-you-can events and webinars, brand partnerships and our new JourneyWoman store. Unlike other media sites, we have deliberately resisted putting advertising on our editorial features because it detracts from your reading experience. We do, however, receive a small commission at no cost to you when our readers purchase products mentioned on our site such as clothing, books or travel gear. All products mentioned on our site have been recommended and /or used by our readers.

As an active, participatory member of our global community of over 60,000 subscribers, we ask that you subscribe yourself and women you think would love to receive our emails, and help us co-create our content. Share at least ONE travel tip a year, provide ongoing feedback on our editorial, share your ideas and get involved in our live or virtual events so that you can meet other like-minded women. And of course, we want you to recommend JourneyWoman to women who love travel or aspire to become solo travellers! We welcome your feedback at any time – contact Editor Carolyn Ray at [email protected].

We never sell our data or rent our newsletter lists to outside marketers. For more information, contact us:
