Bring on the world with small group travel

“What if I told you travel could be the greatest distributor of wealth, and the fastest path to peace the world has ever seen? At G Adventures, we’re committed to travel that is a two-way exchange. This means not only do travellers have the time of their lives, but local people in the destinations we visit benefit, too. Did you know that two thirds of our travellers are women, and of those two thirds are solo travellers? We hope to welcome you on a trip with us soon, either alone or with a partner, your family or friends!”

G Adventures

Founded in 1990 by social entrepreneur Bruce Poon Tip, G Adventures is a pioneer of community tourism and leader in small group travel, offering more than 750 life-changing trips in 100 countries on all seven continents. Recognizing that older women are among its most important guests, G Adventures has launched a full suite of new, cost-effective adventure experiences for women over 50, including new ‘Classic’ trips include safaris in Africa and multi-country trips in Central America that were only previously available to travellers aged up to 39.

A champion of solo travel for over 30 years, G Adventures is taking its solo offering to the next level with the launch of Solo-ish Adventures – G Adventures’ first travel style created exclusively for solo travellers. Solo-ish caters to travellers who have a desire to go at it alone, and are seeking personal growth, connection and safety as they travel. Available to book now, Solo-ish features 13 trips in some of G Adventures’ most popular destinations, including Costa Rica, India, Peru, South Africa and Vietnam. All trips will harness the power of community tourism, ensuring local interactions and maximum benefit to local people in terms of money staying in the destination.

G Adventures’ award-winning trips support communities, giving women meaningful exchanges with local people, cultures, landscapes and wildlife, while offering them the freedom and flexibility to explore on their own. Our responsible approach to travel is demonstrated through its ‘G for Good’ social impact commitments, which include travel guidelines for children, wildlife and Indigenous people. We also have more than 100 community tourism projects built into our trips around the world, developed together with our non-profit partner, Planeterra, which was also founded by Bruce Poon Tip.

In 2018, G Adventures was the first travel company to introduce an industry-leading ‘Ripple Score’ assessment which measures how many of a traveller’s dollars stay in the local economy, and in 2023 it announced its Trees for Days initiative which supports local environments and communities through tree-planting, with one tree per G Adventures’ traveller being planted per day.

Commitment to Sustainability

A lot of companies use “sustainability” or “sustainable travel” to talk about exploring the world in a better way, but we’ve never been ones to follow in others’ footsteps or borrow out-dated ideas. Our commitment to making travel a force for good is different — so we call it G for Good.

It stands for all of the social, environmental, and ethical good we create as a business which helps to fuel community tourism. Which is… you ask? It means our tours are built on meaningful relationships with local communities and directly benefit the people and places we visit. Today, our definition of community tourism means that the communities we positively impact ripples far beyond these destinations, to include our employees, supplier and agent partners, small business owners, customers, social followers, and travellers like you.

G for Good is what makes us, us. With your help, we can make travel the force for good we’ve known it can be since our company was established over three decades ago.

Single Supplement Policy

The accommodation is on a twin share basis and, if you are travelling on your own, you will be sharing a room with another G Adventures traveller of the same sex. We offer a “My Own Room” option on most of our tours, which guarantees you a room of your own for a modest additional fee. Cost and details of “My Own Room” vary according to the specific trip, so be sure to consult our trip summary pages for full details. On some tours, a single room may not be available at certain overnight stops, depending on the style of accommodation.
