Founded in 2009 by environmental educator Tara Short, Green Edventures is dedicated to creating eco-friendly, educational group travel experiences. Plus, our tours inspire deep connections with nature, culture, and wildlife.
After seven years of guiding, Tara used her last $1,000 to launch Green Edventures. Meanwhile, her mission was to protect people, places, and ecosystems through sustainable educational tours. Today, her vision continues to guide us, making Green Edventures a leader in women’s eco-travel and student educational tours.
Our women’s eco-tours are beginner-friendly, yet they also challenge seasoned travelers. Additionally, we partner with locally owned operators and expert guides to ensure immersive experiences. As a result, our itineraries build confidence, promote learning, and foster meaningful connections with nature.

Some of our most unique tours are science-based, including helping with coral restoration in Roatán, learning about Yellowstone’s wolves while supporting wolf conservation, and directly supporting wildlife conservation such as trekking in Uganda to see Mountain Gorillas.
