We begin on Java in Yogyakarta, the island’s cultural heart, exploring landmarks like Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple. After a scenic train ride to Surabaya, we continue to Mount Bromo for a sunrise view and optional volcano hike. Next, we travel to Bali, splitting our time between Ubud’s arts scene and the beach towns of Permuteran and Candidasa. Highlights include Bali Barat National Park, snorkeling around Menjangan Island, and visits to pristine white-sand beaches by traditional boat. We then fly to Flores to see Komodo dragons on Rinca and Komodo Islands, spending a night aboard a boat in a serene bay. A visit to the Manggarai people and their traditional caci dance rounds out our journey. We return to Bali for a farewell dinner before departure.
