Join Just You and Explore Costa Rica’s Rainforests, Wildlife, and Indigenous Traditions With Like-Minded Travellers

Discover the real Costa Rica with Just You from a whole host of incredible encounters in nature to fascinating glimpses of local cultures and communities. On this classic tour, you’ll start in Puerto Viejo de Limon, a beach resort on the Caribbean coast boasting crystal-clear waters and stunning sandy beaches.

It won’t take long before we head out on the nature trail, with a visit to Cahuita National Park, which was created to preserve the coral reef along its shores. Sea turtles nest here, and the reef is home to many different species of coral and fish. On land, brightly-colored birds including green ibises, keel-billed toucans and herons live in the forest, and you might spot monkeys and pacas roaming amongst the tropical plants.

Experience Costa Rica’s Indigenous Traditions and Coffee Culture on a Solo Tour Designed for Nature Lovers

We’ll then learn about the Bribri people of Costa Rica – the country’s largest indigenous community – with a visit to a multi-generational family who all live under one roof in the village of Watsi. You’ll be treated to lunch and have the opportunity to discover more about their daily life and traditions, from growing medicinal plants to producing chocolate.

Nature enthusiasts will love visiting the Caribbean Conservation Center to learn about the ecology and conservation of sea turtles at Tortuguero National Park. Other wildlife to look out for include monkeys, river otters, crocodiles, caimans and many species of birds.

And the learnings continue when we enjoy the Mi Cafecito Coffee Tour, a Just You Cares and Planeterra project that provides insights into the lives of Costa Rica’s coffee producers.

For the final few days of this tour, we will be based in La Fortuna, where you will explore even more highlights, including dense rainforests and soaring volcanoes during your free time. There are also some optional tours you can add onto this tour to really make the most of your adventures in the wild.
