Places to Stay

Find a locally owned, women-friendly place to stay here

How this works: This is a free to use, in service to women seeking recommended accommodations. To do this, we need your help. Share your recommendations. Invite other women to participate. Help us build this into a trusted place to find and share women-friendly places to stay around the world.

1. To find a place to stay, use the bar on the left to search by city, state/province or country. You will need to select the country first before seeing the available cities. If the city isn’t listed that means it hasn’t been populated yet, so we need your recommendations! The more we have the better this is!

2. To add a recommended accommodation, use the green button below. To submit a place to stay, you must agree that it is not your own or one you have a financial interest in. All listings must be available on a third-party booking platform (eg Airbnb, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Trusted Housesitters, etc) so that women can review the details, including safety and accessibility information. Private or residential listings are not accepted. All listings will be reviewed and ownership checked prior to publishing the listing. Our goal is to have new listings up within 72 hours, assuming all information has been provided on the form.

3. Sponsored listings: Those listings with a pink background are paid listings from our partners, who have undergone a verification process and help us offer this service at no charge to you. Advertisers are invited to join our directory here.

Disclaimer: This is provided as a service to women. We are not involved in the booking process, nor do we accept responsibility for any issues that may arise. We welcome your feedback at [email protected].

Hotel des 2 Continents

Very central and easy walking distance to all main attractions, museums and metro. Just down the street from Cafe de Flores. Breakfast is an additional cost but I always found a cafe nearby. I booked on Expedia to get a deal and don’t regret it at all. A very quiet area as well – slept with the windows open, on the second floor!

A queen-sized room in Robin's Nest, part of Treetop Hideaways in Lincolnshire, England, recommended as a safe place for women to stay.

Robin’s Nest – Treehouse in England

Submitted by: Brenda H.

The treehouse itself was in a beautiful location and on entering, it was so much more luxurious but designed to fit in with its natural environment. The floor-to-ceiling windows allowed the outside in. There was a lovely log burner for colder evenings, the bathroom was stunning, and the soaps were locally made. There was a kitchen area with cooking facilities and lovely welcome touches such as homemade shortbread and eggs.

Staying there was so wonderfully relaxing. You just felt your shoulders drop and your breathing slow. It was as if you could almost shake off the traumas of the last year, and just be for once. The rowing boat just proved to be such a laugh, getting into it set us off into laughter and getting out even more so. Oh, the small things in life!

Holiday House Borgo Pinti

I stayed at this lovely guest house in Florence in the summer. Very reasonably priced and with different room configurations. Walking distance to the Duomo. Provides a light breakfast but lots of restaurants in the area if you want a bigger meal. Run by nuns- was a former monastery

Stunning patio and views of LA. Look for deals. Worth every penny.

Bubble hotel Iceland

Bubble Hotel

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner (not included) before being whisked off to our private Bubbles, each far removed from the other but still close to the service house with a kitchen, showers, and washrooms. This is truly a remote destination with zero amenities, but there was a big, comfy bed covered in faux fur throws, a lamp, a heater, and absolutely nothing else.

A nicely decorated room with a queen bed and modern art - Soho Boutique Sevilla in Spain, recommended by a JourneyWoman reader as a safe place to stay for women.
