Bass Hill Hermitage is ideal for ‘time-out’, walks or a base to explore set in a peaceful rural area, on 16 acres. Just a short drive to Phillip Island (little Penguins!).

Bass Hill Hermitage has grown out of a long held dream to provide a place for prayer, quiet, solitude and rest. 


3 bedrooms, all en-suite (1 dbl,2 sgl) & electric blankets. All linen provided. Lounge has wood-burning fire & Air-con. Well-equipped kitchen. verandas on 3 sides.TV/DVD. Laundry. BBQ. Chapel/Meditation area. Ample parking.Private. Quiet No smoking


Lots of possibilities for walks & bike-riding (byo bike & helmet) quiet no-thru road, rail-trail, coastal walks, beaches, wild-life parks. Guided meditation, directed retreats & spiritual direction available on request. Work on the land if you like!


Bass Hill Hermitage has its roots in the traditions of Christian spirituality. It is a welcoming place open to all. There are no formal programmes, however, individual guided retreats are available. Spiritual Direction & Meditation sessions $30

How to find us

We are on the Bass Coast, approx 2 hours drive S.E. of Melbourne Victoria. There is a bus service from Southern Cross Station (Melbourne) to Bass & pick-up from here can be arranged(5 mins drive)
