Welcome to The Women’s Travel Directory. Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using our website and subscribing to our membership services. By accessing or using the site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree with these terms, you must not use our services.

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of The Women’s Travel Directory, including any content, functionality, and services offered on or through the site. 

By purchasing a membership, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions, as well as our Privacy Policy.

Membership Eligibility

You must be 18 years or older. 

Your travel business must meet the below criteria to be eligible for partnership:

  • Are registered as a business /corporation / LLC
  • Have successfully offered at least 3 tours or retreats in the past year
  • Have sufficient liability insurance to cover travellers

Ideally, we are seeking businesses that are: 

  • Majority woman owned 
  • Have women on their leadership team 
  • Hire women throughout the business, e.g. designing trips, tour directors
  • Hire women-owned businesses including hotels, restaurants to operate their travel experiences 
  • Practice sustainable travel including use of train travel, public transit, off season travel and less-travelled destinations 
  • Offer small group and/ or women-only trips or retreats
  • Offer no single supplement and single occupancy at an affordable cost (ideally no more than 20% more than the cost of double occupancy rates) 
  • Actively participate in women’s causes, fundraising and awareness efforts 

By registering for a membership, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

Membership Tiers and Benefits

The Women’s Travel Directory offers multiple membership tiers to suit the needs of our partners.
  • Emerging: For small business owners who have been in business less than 3 years and with three or less tour listings to promote throughout their subscription year.
  • Growth: For small businesses with between 3 and 20 tour listings to promote throughout their subscription year
  • Enterprise: Established businesses with more than 20 listings to promote in a subscription period.

  • Provide a landing page for JourneyWoman members to track engagement
  • Assign a unique code for JourneyWoman to track sales
  • Provide UTM/Affiliate links as appropriate
  • Provide a unique email or contact number for JourneyWoman members

JourneyWoman Partner Badges

JourneyWoman Partner Badge (GREY) 

All approved directory members are provided with a JourneyWoman Partner badge. 

The JourneyWoman Partner Badge is a way to showcase your partnership with JourneyWoman and your commitment to empowering women in travel. This badge provides an immediate indication to JourneyWoman readers that your brand is vetted by our team and meets the criteria we set out to ensure solo women travel safely. 

All members must display this badge on your website and communications and link to your listing on our Directory. Badges are provided to new partners upon payment. Members must be in good standing to use the badge on their website. Our team will conduct regular audits to ensure proper badge usage.

JourneyWoman Verified Partner Badge (RED)

Verified partners have a deeper strategic partnership with JourneyWoman.

A JourneyWoman Verified Partner Bage recognizes an established business that is actively involved with JourneyWoman and considers us their primary partner for growth. 

As a Verified Partner, you leverage JourneyWoman’s programs and also advocate for women consistently through your business. Verified Partners include this badge on your communications and website and link to your listing on our Directory. 

Verified partner benefits: 

  • Featured on our home page 
  • Show up first in search results on our website 
  • Potential clients can search by “Verified Partner” on the website 
  • Verified Partner is shown on your listing
  • Invited to participate in high-visibility marketing opportunities
  • Opportunity to partner with JourneyWoman on specific campaigns or programs (e.g. topical webinars, fundraising events, etc)  
  • Insider knowledge about JourneyWoman’s upcoming programs, industry trends and research and more 
Criteria to Become a Verified Partner

Our partnership goes beyond just listing your services on our directory. It’s about helping you establish and grow your brand presence by sharing your unique story, building your brand, and helping your business flourish. 

Members must be in good standing, with updated corporate profiles and active itineraries to use the JourneyWoman Verified badge on their website.  

To earn or maintain your verified status, you need to complete at least FOUR of the following criteria:

  1. Attend Partner Calls: Participate in at least three Partner calls per year. These calls are designed to help you stay updated with the latest trends, network with other partners, and gain insights to enhance your business.
  2. Client testimonials: Collect at least 5 positive reviews from your clients per year. Reviews are critical as potential customers rely heavily on first-hand experiences. Encourage your satisfied travellers to share their positive experiences to build trust and attract more clients.
  3. Participate in the JourneyWoman Partner Facebook page by commenting on discussions or beginning one (eg sharing a business challenge, news or ideas) on a regular basis 
  4. Participate in at least one complimentary webinar or editorial opportunity each year. This could be responding to a ‘call for editorial’ or proposing an article or topic to the editorial team. 
  5. Invite and host a JourneyWoman writer on one of your trips (this provides us with more insight into what makes your travel experiences unique)
  6. Join our Women’s Speaker’s Bureau, which promotes women speakers on paid panels, webinars and conferences
  7. Propose a joint initiative that benefits both partners, such as a hosted trip or retreat, a tourism board campaign, a fundraising effort or another activity that aligns with our shared purpose 
  8. Participate in our annual Partners Survey to share your feedback, ideas and identify trends in women’s travel 

Partners need to be members of our Directory for at least one year prior to applying for Verified Partner status. Emerging businesses are not eligible for the Verified Badge.

Can there be an admin fee to process an application? $30 (for our 30th anniversary) 

By meeting these criteria, you not only gain verified status but also enhance your brand’s reputation within the travel community. We believe these changes will help you leverage your partnership with JourneyWoman to its fullest potential, driving growth and success for your business.

Please note: We track partner participation so please inquire if you would like a status update.

Membership Plans and Payment

We offer various membership plans. Details of each plan, including pricing, are provided on our website. Membership payment is required in advance and is billed on a monthly or annual basis or as otherwise stated. Payment for your plan will be made through Stripe unless otherwise stated. We do not collect personal data related to your payment. 
  • Annual memberships will renew automatically 365 days from the initial purchase date. monthly memberships will automatically renew one month from the initial date of purchase. 
  • Renewal notices are sent 60 and 30 days prior to renewal. We require 30 days’ notice to cancel a renewal, otherwise an administrative fee will be charged. 
  • Overdue accounts have 30 days to provide payment or your listing and all associated trips will be removed.

You agree to provide accurate and complete payment information.  

All fees are non-refundable unless otherwise specified.

Membership Cancellation and Renewal

You may cancel your membership at any time through your account settings. If you cancel, your membership will remain active until the end of the current billing cycle, after which it will not be renewed. Early cancellations will result in a $50 administrative fee. 

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your membership at our discretion, with or without cause, and without prior notice.

Use of the Site

Your membership grants you a limited, non-transferable license to access and use the site and its content to promote your brand profile and tour listings. 

You agree not to share your login credentials with others or allow others to access your account.

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account and for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.

You must not use the site in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the site, or interfere with other users’ enjoyment of the site.

Content and Intellectual Property

All content on the site, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of The Women’s Travel Directory or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, republish, download, store or transmit any of the content on our site, except as permitted under these terms.

User-Generated Content

You have the opportunity to submit content, such as comments or posts, to the site.

By submitting content, you grant The Women’s Travel Directory a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and display such content.

You agree not to submit content that is illegal, offensive, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others.

Coupons and Discount Codes

At times the Women’s Travel Directory may offer coupons or discount codes as an incentive to register for our membership platform. 

Coupons are valid for a limited time and must be used within the specified dates. Expired coupons or discount codes will not be honoured.

Coupons are subject to availability and may be discontinued at any time without prior notice.

Memberships purchased with a coupon or discount code will automatically renew at the full membership price. 

Eligibility:

  • Coupons may be limited to specific customers, such as first-time buyers or members of a loyalty program.
  • Some coupons may have minimum purchase requirements or may only apply to certain products or categories.

Redemption

  • Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase or entered at checkout for online purchases.
  • Only one coupon can be used per transaction unless otherwise stated.
  • Coupons cannot be combined with other discounts, promotions, or offers unless explicitly mentioned.

Non-Transferable:

  • Coupons are non-transferable and may not be sold, exchanged, or traded for cash or other items.
  • Coupons are intended for personal use only and are not valid for resale.

Restrictions:

  • Coupons may be restricted to certain payment options or categories and may exclude specific services.
  • Coupons cannot be applied to previous purchases, taxes, shipping charges, or any fees unless specifically stated.

Return Policy:

  • If a purchase made with a coupon is returned, the value of the coupon will be deducted from the refund amount.
  • Coupons and discount codes used in a purchase are considered redeemed and cannot be reissued or reused.

Misuse:

  • Any misuse of coupons, such as unauthorized duplication or altering, will result in the invalidation of the coupon and possible legal action.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the updated terms on our site.

Your continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Errors and Omissions:

The company is not responsible for any typographical, printing, or other errors that may appear in the distribution or redemption of coupons.

In the event of an error, the company reserves the right to cancel the coupon or amend the offer.
