We stayed here, I think, in 2018. We (2 women) felt really safe there. It was an easy walk to the shops and there is a very nice Indian restaurant next door. It is an extremely short walk to the open air food market (seemed to operate in the evenings — all sorts of stalls selling meals) and the ocean.
