Great Spring/Autumn Detox Your Body and Detox Your Mind with Intermittent Fasting Retreat

Margaretha Montagu Retreats

If you want to get rid of accumulated toxins and lose weight, without harming your health, while eating healthily, and get your exercise walking the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, then this 8-day retreat in the sun-drenched south of France is exactly what you need. You want to feel and look great, have loads of energy, feel confident, comfortably fit into your clothes, enjoy exercise and sleep better, but you don't want to compromise your immunity as the kilos drop off, you want to increase it, to protect you against infections in these post-pandemic times. This is your opportunity to test-drive the intermittent fasting lifestyle, aka time-restricted eating, to find out if it suits you, while at the same time thoroughly detoxing your body and your mind, while you walk the Camino. During this retreat, hosted in the foothills of the mighty Pyrenées mountains in the unspoiled and largely undiscovered sun-blessed southwest of France, you can get all your questions answered by a medical doctor who has been living this lifestyle herself for several years. Your home-from-home, for 8 days (or longer!) will be a much-loved French farmhouse surrounded by sunflower fields, ancient woods, lush meadows, and fertile orchards.

"I created this retreat because I want more than just a (temporary) detox and weight loss for my guests. I want to empower and educate my guests to be able to keep the weight off permanently and develop a long-term exercise program that will improve their health, and decrease their risk of developing various acute and chronic diseases. That is why I chose to host these weight loss retreats in a part of the world where inhabitants live some of the longest, healthiest and fittest lives in Europe, despite eating substantial amounts of rich food and drinking copious amounts of wine, " says Dr Montagu, author of Self-Confidence Made Simple - 12 Frenchwomen Share Their Confidence Secrets.

Imagine sitting under 200-year-old lime trees, comfortably ensconced in a sun-lounger, listening to the birds chatting away happily in the trees, sipping a scrumptious, ice-cold glass of fresh-pressed juice with the perfume of wildflowers and herbs scenting the air, while contemplating the extensive benefits of a completely different lifestyle... Are you ready for a detox and weight loss retreat that will leave you feeling vibrantly alive, full of joie de vivre, deliciously indulged and profoundly relaxed from the top of your head to the tips of your toes?

Vivre aux Eclats – Wellness Retreat France

Margaretha Montagu Retreats

Join author Dr Margaretha Montagu and indulge on a cultural wellness retreat France to indulge your senses - French Cultural Immersion & Camino de Santiago Walking Tour. Have you always dreamt of living in a French farmhouse, surrounded by sunflower fields, of going to the weekly fresh food market to buy crusty French bread, succulent sun-ripened tomatoes and creamy, fragrant French cheese, of sitting down at a little table at a sidewalk café, sipping a petit crème and just watching the world go by? Now you can escape to the unspoiled and largely undiscovered southwest of France to an authentic, much-loved French farmhouse for 8 days of blissful contemplation of a completely different lifestyle. Indulge your senses by visiting a bustling fresh food market, a kaleidoscope of sights, sounds and irresistible aromas, an intriguing antique shop, full of forgotten treasures, a world-famous annual music festival and flea market, by attending a sacred bread-baking ceremony, a yoga nidra practice while gazing at a million stars, an ancient connecting fire ceremony, by walking part of the unforgettable and life-changing Camino de Santiago de Compostela and discovering how to do walking meditation, by basking in the breathtaking beauty of a sunrise over the Pyrenées mountains, and by meeting some of the region's generous and gregarious women who will welcome you with open arms and open hearts, to Gascony, aka French Tuscany. During this wellness retreat, you will find out how you can use your senses to dramatically enrich your life, based on the age-old concepts that people here in the southwest of France have applied for centuries and that have given them some of the longest and most laid-back life spans in Europe. Margaretha is the author of the Fabriqué en France book series, including Self-Confidence Made Simple - discover the secrets of 12 supremely self-confident French women. At the end of this wellness retreat, you will feel intensely alive, profoundly rested, serenely contented, positively radiant, intangibly irresistible, irrepressibly energetic, bien dans votre peau… and at least ten years younger, much like those enviable French women who manage to age so elegantly, despite eating and drinking to their hearts’ content, and live happy and healthy lives well into their nineties.

Georgian Bay Ontario Women's Trip - Wild Women Expeditions

Georgian Bay Culinary, Kayak & Yoga Escape

Wild Women Expeditions

Your five day adventure begins at Snug Harbour on iconic Georgian Bay! On this Georgian Bay trip, there will be a private boat shuttle to our secret island which will serve as our basecamp for four nights. This beloved region is full of panoramas, bird life and quintessential Canadian landscape. The dramatic east side of Georgian Bay is home to the world’s largest freshwater archipelago and is a designated UNESCO site. The UNESCO Georgian Bay Biosphere consists of more than 30,000 islands that create puzzle-piece channels, sheltered inlets and deep lagoons to explore. It’s designed for the slow and serene pace of a kayak! To add extra flavour, we’ll be joined by Chef Laurie Tester, an enormously talented, classically-trained chef. Born on the east coast of Canada, she studied in both Canada and France. Her specialties are endless, especially when it comes to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free cooking. Push aside any notion of traditional camping fare like a tin of beans and wieners for dinner! The food prepared by Chef Laurie will be as fresh as the Georgian Bay breeze and plentiful! As an integral part of this all-natural, wild culinary experience, you will be treated to carefully curated meals created with your dietary needs at the forefront. The opportunity to cook outdoors for five days with the open-kitchen backdrop of Georgian Bay in the company of Wild Women is a true bucket list item for Chef Laurie. On this trip, our guides Heather and Joedy, will take care of all of our needs on land and water–from the fully-equipped campsite to the kayak cockpit. Both women are skilled Paddle Canada instructors. Heather is also a yoga instructor and each day will begin with a yawn-and-stretch yoga class before breakfast. After leisurely breakfasts and second cups of coffee our days will be spent out on the water. Depending on the group’s collective experience and confidence, we can head out for a paddle to explore another nearby island or stay closer to learn and trial new skills. If we experience a day when the weather doesn’t cooperate (this is Georgian Bay afterall and Mother Nature often has her own agenda), we can learn how to make our own mala necklaces under Heather and Joedy’s artistic guidance. Heather is also a watercolour painter and practices meditation. If you’re intrigued, she can help you discover a meditation that may resonate with you. There will also be an opportunity to learn the fluid nature of watercolour and create your own truly indelible memory of the area.
