Travel to the Wildest Reaches of Western Canada

As a female entrepreneur I deeply value the power of community and connection with other women, and travel is one of the best ways to cultivate those communities. Together we gain support to try new things, step out of our comfort zone, to learn and grow alongside each other. I am always impressed by our women travellers – their zest for adventure, their curiosity and open mindedness, and this makes working and travelling together such a joy for me.

Our Story and Mission

Mosaic Earth Travel was founded in 2020 by Pam McGarel, a passionate sustainability expert. Pam’s vision was to fill a gap in Western Canada’s tourism industry by offering multi-day tours in rural and remote areas. She aimed to bring more travelers to these beautiful places. Our goal is to design immersive, educational experiences grounded in regenerative tourism. We focus on elevating local voices and fostering connections between travelers, nature, and Indigenous cultures in British Columbia and the Yukon.

Our Unique Travel Experiences

We create small-group, multi-day tours that blend soft adventures with cultural activities. Expect hiking, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing, paired with authentic Indigenous experiences. During the day, you’ll explore wild, rugged landscapes. In the evenings, enjoy the comforts of family-run lodges, exceptional hospitality, and unique culinary delights. We specialize in off-the-beaten-path destinations like northern Vancouver Island, the Great Bear Rainforest, and the Yukon. Choose from scheduled guided tours (groups of 4-8) or contact us for a custom private tour tailored to your interests.

Commitment to Sustainability

The name Mosaic Earth reflects our planet’s unique yet interconnected nature. Indigenous knowledge emphasizes that everything is connected. Therefore, we strive to create travel experiences that positively impact destinations and travelers alike. We view these experiences as part of a broader ecosystem. Consequently, we collaborate with regional tourism boards and local communities to understand their tourism priorities. We learn which aspects of their land and culture they wish to share. Our guided experiences and most accommodation partners are locally owned and operated. This approach adds value to the community and enhances guest authenticity. Additionally, we regularly support local non-profits focused on conservation and cultural preservation. Through guest and employee education, we aim to minimize our footprint. We focus on reducing waste, energy, and fuel use while offsetting remaining emissions.

Single Supplement Policy

Pricing is typically based on double occupancy, except for custom/private tours which can be quoted as single occupancy. For scheduled tours, those travelling solo may share a room with another solo traveller or pay a single supplement for their own room. In some cases, sharing may not be an option and the single supplment will be mandatory.

Two women stop to take a photo while on a hiking trip. Traveling more sustainably is one way women can make a difference in travel.
