Travel to the Wildest Reaches of Western Canada

As a female entrepreneur I deeply value the power of community and connection with other women, and travel is one of the best ways to cultivate those communities. Together we gain support to try new things, step out of our comfort zone, to learn and grow alongside each other. I am always impressed by our women travellers – their zest for adventure, their curiosity and open mindedness, and this makes working and travelling together such a joy for me.

Mosaic Earth Travel was launched in 2020 by Pam McGarel, a sustainability expert passionate about experience design and community partnerships. She recognized a gap in Western Canada’s tourism offerings for multi-day tours in rural and remote communities. As a result, she set out to bring more travelers to these stunning, lesser-known destinations.

Connecting Travelers to Nature and Culture

Our goal is to create immersive, educational experiences rooted in regenerative tourism principles. We aim to elevate local voices and foster meaningful connections between travelers, the natural environment, and Indigenous cultures. Through these efforts, we encourage empathy and understanding while celebrating British Columbia and the Yukon’s unique heritage.

Curating Small-Group, Adventure-Filled Tours

We design small-group, multi-day tours combining soft adventures like hiking, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing with Indigenous cultural activities. During the day, travelers explore rugged wilderness, while evenings offer the comforts of family-run lodges and exceptional hospitality. Culinary experiences add a special touch, showcasing local flavors and traditions.

Discovering Off-the-Beaten-Path Destinations

Our tours focus on hidden gems like northern Vancouver Island, the Great Bear Rainforest, the Sunshine Coast, Bella Coola, and the Yukon. These destinations offer breathtaking landscapes and rich cultural histories. Guests can join scheduled guided tours with groups of 4-8 people or create custom private tours tailored to their interests.

Commitment to Sustainability

The name ‘Mosaic Earth’ represents both the uniqueness and interconnectedness of our planet. Indigenous knowledge teaches us that everything is connected to everything else. In order to create travel experiences that truly have a positive impact on the destination and our travellers, we understand we must view these experiences as part of the broader ecosystem. We work closely with regional tourism boards and local communities to understand their priorities for tourism and the aspects of their land and culture they wish to share with us. All of our guided experiences and the majority of our accommodation partners are locally owned and operated, adding value to the community while enhancing the authenticity of the guest experience. We regularly give back to local non-profits doing exceptional work in conservation and cultural preservation. Through guest and employee education we’re working to minimize our footprint by reducing waste, energy and fuel consumption, and offsetting the remainder of our emissions.

Single Supplement Policy

Pricing is typically based on double occupancy, except for custom/private tours which can be quoted as single occupancy. For scheduled tours, those travelling solo may share a room with another solo traveller or pay a single supplement for their own room. In some cases, sharing may not be an option and the single supplment will be mandatory.
