Walk - Connect - Revive

We are two sisters new owners of WalkingWomen since August 2021. We are passionate about sharing our love of walking and having wonderful travel experiences with friends and family. Sometimes women just want to travel in the company of other women and we want to make this possible.

Walk the world with WalkingWomen

We are two sisters new owners of WalkingWomen since August 2021. We are passionate about sharing our love of walking and having wonderful travel experiences with friends and family. Sometimes women just want to travel in the company of other women and we want to make this possible.

Why is WalkingWomen important?

Ginny’s partner died in September 2015 and she was at a loss how to holiday. WalkingWomen got her holidaying again and she wants to share this with other women.

Sara has spent the last 30 years juggling bringing up 3 children and part-time work. Travel has always been important to her; she previously worked in the travel industry. Now she wants to bring holidays to women who need ‘me’ time.

Our mission …

WalkingWomen has a strong legacy spanning more than 20 years. It has been owned and operated by sister duo Ginny and Sara since 2021.

Our mission is and has always been, to provide a safe and welcoming space for women to explore and adventure. We walk, connect, revive. Together.

We champion women at every stage of our journey. Our female team is at the end of the phone when you book. All of our guides around the world are women. And we seek out and showcase women-led businesses – from women winemakers to our hosts.

We recruit and nurture all our women guides, to ensure they have successful careers with good earning potential as mountain leaders. 60% of our guides are over 50. And our more experienced guides mentor others starting out.

We offer holidays for all levels of walking and have a Goat Guide to explain what you can expect. We encourage women to call us to discuss what holidays they are interested in or just book and be sure of a great time.

Commitment to Sustainability

WalkingWomen has partnered with Kids for Kids because we share the same values. We both believe in the power of women and the importance of education. We are both passionate about investing in a sustainable future for those in areas of the world that struggle the most.

Kids for Kids works to improve the lives of children living in poverty in Sudan. What we love is that they work to empower women and help them start their own businesses with goats at the heart of what they do. This has been called the best micro finance scheme with women being given or loaned goats to give vital milk to their children but also to breed more goats to support more families. The projects are entirely run by the community for the community and keep going and growing – truly sustainable.

Single Supplement Policy

We do not penalise those travelling alone by charging a single booking supplement. Each customer is paying for the same experience and can enjoy single occupancy at no supplement. All accommodation offers ensuite bathrooms or your own private bathroom close by. The only time this is not the case is where we are hiking in remote areas or staying in mountain huts.

We aim to have the same rooms available for single occupancy, and those choosing to share in a twin or double room. This is not always possible as we use small hotels, but it will be clear what you can expect in the booking information. Types of rooms available are in each holiday’s information details. Please note, advertised accommodation may be subject to change by our accommodation partners but we do our utmost to avoid this.
