Empowering women through travel

I am Irene Nalwoga managing director of Women Tour Uganda. I am a Solo woman traveler and I understand the challenges of traveling alone as a woman to a foreign country. The anxiety, fear of the unknown, panic that comes with a solo woman organizing a trip to travel alone is very high. “That’s why we decided to serve women in all our safaris in order to encourage them to travel and meet other solo women as a group because life is too short to sit and wait for someone to travel with. The solo women who have traveled with me call me, their Ugandan best friend and I love meeting solo women from all over the world.

About Women Tour Uganda

Women Tour Uganda is a local Ugandan company owned and run by women; it employs 90% women. Irene, our Managing Director, is a Solo woman traveler and understands the challenges of traveling alone as a woman to a foreign country.

Irene or another Female guide will always be with you throughout the safari, even during the gorilla trek. She will go with you everywhere, and you will do all the activities together. She is naturally gifted at nurturing people and loves taking good care of our solo women travelers.

We take care of everything from the time you arrive at the airport to the time you leave Entebbe airport. There are no hidden costs. We always have a professional male driver. For every national park, we get you a Uganda wildlife guide to tell you about that National park during the game drive and to ensure our safety as we enjoy the animals.

We decided to serve solo women travelers in all our safaris in order to encourage them to travel and meet other solo women travelers as a group because life is too short to sit and wait for someone to travel with.

We have Solo women traveler group scheduled safaris for women only and private safaris.

Commitment to Sustainability

We know that Women tour Uganda wouldn’t be where it is now if we didn’t have Angels. Angels come in different ways, thanks a lot to our solo women guest angels who book our safaris and those who recommend us to their circles. Part of your safari profit genuninely helps other Ugandan single mother entrepreneurs under our program. We are soooooo grateful.

Please note that we dont take donations from our Solo women guests.

Thats why we started Women tour Uganda Angels where we put aside a percentage profit from your safaris and we become an angel to different Ugandan selected single mother small business owners. We look at their business needs in terms of finance, their level of commitment to their business, passion, their dependants and then donate a substantial amount in their small business without any expectation of profit or ownership.

We noticed that many single mother small business owners in Uganda don’t need too much funds in their businesses and they don’t have easy access to credit. We also advice them on what to improve in their business with the help of our operations manager Mr. Peter Kabiri and our managing director Ms Irene Nalwoga.

These mothers take care of their children, families, communities and we hope when their businesses grow they will help other single mother small business owners.

Single Supplement Policy

All our safaris have single supplement of 15% and below depending on the safari chosen

Two women stop to take a photo while on a hiking trip. Traveling more sustainably is one way women can make a difference in travel.
