Journaling in Japan – Artists & Artisans

Girls’ Guide to Paris and Beyond

If you’ve never been to Japan, you’re in for a real treat. Of the 72 countries I’ve visited, Japan is in my top five. Why? Because the Japanese culture is endlessly fascinating. It’s so complex, rich and so incredibly different than our Western norms. The beauty and artistry with which everyday duties are carried out has me in continual awe. To enhance an already outrageously beautiful adventure, we’ll be traveling with a French artist who will be teaching us how to construct a travel journal using found objects, old papers and our own creativity. Perhaps you already know LululaBerlue from instagram, but if you do not, you’re in for some real eye-candy.

Japan’s Culture and Countryside

Adventures in Good Company

While Japan has long been known for its dynamic cities, only recently has the beauty and culture of the Japanese countryside begun to gain attention. On this trip we experience both, spending time in the beginning in Kyoto, the cultural heart of Japan, and at the end in Tokyo, a mixture of ancient and modern. In between we will hike some of the best parts of the Nakasendo Way, which linked the two cities during Japan's feudal period.
