Bulgaria boasts a rich array of historic landmarks spanning millennia. From the awe-inspiring artwork in the Thracian tombs to remnants of the Roman and Byzantine Empires, from medieval masterpieces to remnants of nearly 500 years of Ottoman rule—there’s a story around every corner.

With Far Horizons, journey from the southwestern mountains to the eastern Black Sea shores and up to the northern stretches of the Danube River. You’ll fall in love with our leader, Dr. Vassil Tenekedjiev, who exudes kindness and passion for his work and the history of his country.

Our itinerary highlights all seven of Bulgaria’s UNESCO World Heritage sites. These include the Ivanovo carved churches, the ancient city of Nessebar, and the majestic Madara Rider. Additionally, you’ll visit the stunning Rila Monastery, Boyana Church’s murals, and the Thracian tombs of Kazanlak and Sveshtari.

Embark on an 18-day adventure with a group of just 13 fellow travelers. Along the way, explore Bulgaria’s scenic landscapes, quaint villages, excellent cuisine, and fine wine. After immersing yourself in this monumental history, you’ll wonder why more people don’t visit Bulgaria.
