Join Selkie for this unique opportunity to sail during this wilder season of Hebride’s Autumn.
The Small Isles of Eigg, Rum, Canna and Muck are magical Hebridean islands ten miles south of Skye. Come autumn, the trees and hillsides turn a burnished orange. On sunny days, the air is crisp and the light sharp. Our five-day trips are timed with the full moon, and the new moon tidal range is greater. Higher high water and lower low water enable Selkie, with her lifting keel, to get in and out of the shallow and more sheltered anchorages around the isles, facilitating exploration and longer walks ashore.
We’ll explore based on wind and weather, with the possibility of moonlit sails, starlit walks, and summits like Sgurr offering stunning sea views or atmospheric treks through clouds and cliffs steeped in history.
No matter the weather, the islands offer beautiful anchorages and rewarding walks. Inside, Selkie stays warm with a diesel stove and cabin radiators. While it can be chilly or wet on deck, the right clothing makes all the difference.
Enjoy delicious meals prepared by our chef, featuring locally sourced produce. Autumn brings fresh vegetables, pheasant and duck from Muck, beef from Eigg, and venison from Rum.
