Explore collections related to the Silk Road in world-class museums in Berlin, Paris, London, and Oxford
Far Horizons is excited to offer a unique 11-day tour to Berlin, Paris, London, and Oxford. The trip focuses on each city’s renowned museums and their Silk Road collections. We will explore various civilizations that flourished along the ancient Silk Road throughout the journey. For instance, Sogdiana was an ancient Iranian civilization now in present-day Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Another example is the Parthians, an Iranian dynasty that lasted nearly five centuries. They reclaimed territory from both the Seleucid Greeks and the Romans. After them came the Sasanians, the last pre-Islamic Persian Empire, who ruled from 224 to 651. They also maintained a strong rivalry with the Roman-Byzantine Empire.
