Places to Stay

Find a locally owned, women-friendly place to stay here

How this works: This is a free to use, in service to women seeking recommended accommodations. To do this, we need your help. Share your recommendations. Invite other women to participate. Help us build this into a trusted place to find and share women-friendly places to stay around the world.

1. To find a place to stay, use the bar on the left to search by city, state/province or country. You will need to select the country first before seeing the available cities. If the city isn’t listed that means it hasn’t been populated yet, so we need your recommendations! The more we have the better this is!

2. To add a recommended accommodation, use the green button below. To submit a place to stay, you must agree that it is not your own or one you have a financial interest in. All listings must be available on a third-party booking platform (eg Airbnb, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Trusted Housesitters, etc) so that women can review the details, including safety and accessibility information. Private or residential listings are not accepted. All listings will be reviewed and ownership checked prior to publishing the listing. Our goal is to have new listings up within 72 hours, assuming all information has been provided on the form.

3. Sponsored listings: Those listings with a pink background are paid listings from our partners, who have undergone a verification process and help us offer this service at no charge to you. Advertisers are invited to join our directory here.

Casa Broggi, Milan, Italy

Casa and Little Broggi

This is a very special place to stay, it has the feel of the traditional palazzo buildings of Milan. It is clean, beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. It is close to excellent shopping areas, the city centre, restaurants etc, and walking around feels very safe at all times of the day and night – we were a group of four 50 plus women travelling to Milan and other cities, but based our stay from this apartment and due to a great proximity to the central train station it was very easy to arrange trips to other places. We went to Lake Como, and Bologna but previously have been to Venice and Florence and Lake Maggiore – all via train! The trains of course are excellent and very reasonably priced. Eating out was also very reasonably priced for a major European city. Jane the owner was an excellent host and provided so much information and advice to make our trip really special, both prior to arrival and during our time there. This was so helpful as it made very good use of our few days staying in Milan. All in all we all felt it was a magical trip and felt very relaxed and safe and would definitely recommend for ladies travelling solo or with friends. It’s worth adding that Jane also can provide a personal pick up service from the airport, which for some travellers will be an excellent option, especially after a long flight.

A simple room at the Movenpick Zurich Airport hotel in Switzerland, recommended as a safe place for women to stay.

Easy and free shuttle bus from Zurich airport to the hotel, Can’t say it was my favourite hotel but it worked for a jetlagged journeyer. The restaurant was good (but expensive). Ask for a room away from the highway, and make sure your hairdryer works!

Old Town Garden Apartments

Old Town Garden Apartments

Accommodation is within the walls of the old town and very convenient to most of the city’s main tourist attractions. It is family-run and owned and the host, Anna, is very professional, knowledgeable and willing to share her genuine love for the area. There is a wine bar on-site and Anna has the expertise to guide you to local wines that suit your tastebuds. Anna’s confidence and openness definitely made my experience easier.

The apartment is off the main street and fairly easy to find. There is a bit of an incline and I wouldn’t recommend this location if you are unable to climb a few flights of stairs.

Beautiful pool area for lounging, centrally located. The rooms were small but comfortable, and I slept with the windows open all night listening to church bells. A 5-minute walk to the old town. Restaurant on site and breakfast included.
