Artisans & Experiences – The Faces of Rue Pigalle

The faces of Rue Pigalle - IWD 2023
About this submission:
“At Rue Pigalle, everything we do is guided by one ethos: Women are the guardians of what is good for the world. Through our work with women artisans and our membership of women, we are reimagining modern life, moving away from over consumption and towards supporting local, supporting artisans and valuing craftsmanship.

Our trips, events and workshops each have these common threads running through them as they connect women to women – to learn, create friendships, and become patrons to women artisans.

As women, we so often put our own needs aside to respond to the demands of work and family. Rue Pigalle takes great pride in being a hub of learning, joy and support for women; to give them the time, space and exposure to new ideas, people and places that will transform their lives.”
What is your company doing to support women?
Rue Pigalle prioritizes women in everything we do. We continually search for women artisans and business owners to feature in events and on trip itineraries. We also adhere to a philanthropic patronage principle: Artisans and galleries receive 100% of the purchase price on any purchases made by our guests.
What can women travellers do to support other women when they travel?
There are so many women artisans making creative and quality products in the smallest towns to the biggest metropolitan cities. Do a bit of research before going on your trip to identify some of them. You can not only visit to buy, but also potentially see the artisan at work. It is an enriching experience that you will never forget.
