The idea for taking women on adventure trips was born on a jeep in Sedona, Arizona, in 1996. While guiding tours over the red rocks, we noticed something special—when the group was all women, a unique camaraderie emerged. Strangers just hours before bonded effortlessly, shared stories, and even continued the conversation over lunch. Women who might have remained quiet in a co-ed group found their voices, embraced challenges, and formed lasting friendships.

In 2025 Stephanie Schmid and Angie Scheffly acquired Canyon Calling to continue the amazing legacy of women traveling together and creating amazing, life-long memories. Trips offered emphasize local, personalized adventures that celebrate curiosity and global connection. We offer multi-activity trips led by top industry professionals to some of the world’s most scenic destinations. Our itineraries are designed to be inclusive, welcoming solo women travelers—who make up about 80% of our guests.
