Go Local in Cuba

As the CEO of Cuban Adventures, I deeply believe in the importance and power of women’s travel. Our philosophy centres on cultivating spaces where women travellers feel safe, respected, and wholly seen, as this aligns with our core vision of providing enriching and inclusive experiences for all.

Women’s travel is not just a component of our business, it’s a critical pillar. Women bring unique perspectives and interactions that contribute to the vibrant fabric of our travel experiences, and we cherish this diversity. We also acknowledge the need for special considerations for women travellers — from single explorers stepping out of their comfort zone to groups of friends seeking transformative experiences — in order to address their specific concerns and aspirations.

To us, facilitating women’s travel is not just a good business practice, it’s a way to drive cultural understanding, facilitate connections, and promote gender equity. In doing so, we are not just supporting the personal growth of the travellers, but also our local guides and communities.

Cuban Adventures was established in 2005 by ex-tour guide John Ahrens and is proudly managed by an all-female leadership team. We distinguished ourselves by specialising in small-group tours that use local guides and local home accommodations to give travellers a genuine experience focused on Cuba’s distinctive society and culture. Our goal is to make Cuba travel easy and accessible for adventurous travellers from around the world by providing safe and enjoyable experiences that create positive change for the traveller and local communities alike.

Commitment to Sustainability

Running our Cuba tours in a socially and environmentally responsible way is paramount to us. Knowing that we positively impact the people and the environment in Cuba is not just a business policy but something that we deeply care about. Every company decision we make, from the places we visit to the activities we include, to the advice we give our travellers, is all run through the lens of responsible and sustainable travel. We work hard to ensure all of our staff and service providers in Cuba also buy into this objective and adopt our responsible travel policy.

Single Supplement Policy

We encourage solo travellers through an optional single supplement policy. For travellers who are willing to share a room with a tour mate of the same gender, there is no single supplement required, even if we are unable to match you with a roommate.
