I’m Kathy Wood, passionate European traveler and the owner and co-founder of European Experiences. I’ve been traveling in Europe for 30+ years, including a life-changing 14-month family sabbatical. My travels have taken me to 17 European countries, with a focus on France, Italy and England. Since 2006 I’ve organized and led small group, slow tours in my favorite places.
About European Experiences
My husband Charley and I started European Experiences in 2006, designed around the concept of “slow travel.” Most of our groups base for one week (seven nights) in one place. I love the great cities of Europe, but I’m most drawn to the countryside and smaller villages… the special places we visit on our European Experiences trips. Because we return to the same locations over many years, we form friendships with local people who extend a warm welcome to our groups. As we share unique activities, experiences, and meals, our trips feel like traveling with friends. Charley has retired from co-leading most of our trips, but I now partner with Jennifer Dugdale, an American expat in Provence with many years of tourism experience. We worked together to design several new trips that Jennifer leads. Either Jennifer or I lead all our trips; we love sharing our special places and creating unique experiences and lasting memories. I personally handle all our marketing and communications… I want to get to know our travelers and be sure a trip is the right fit. I’m always happy to answer questions or offer travel advice. Featured Destinations We host our small-group trips in several areas of France, Italy, and England including our award-winning Luberon Experience week in Provence. We offer several trips each year for women only. Learn more about our special European Experiences for Women. But 70% of our travelers are women, and solo women travelers are always welcome and will feel comfortable on any of our trips.
