Global wellness retreats for women who enjoy running and an active lifestyle

We believe that travel can potentially be transformational, which is why we are committed to creating retreats that support you as a whole woman, not just a runner. The runs are just part of a mindful travel experience that can teach you something about your self and the beautiful world that we all share.

About Elinor Fish, Founder, Run Wild Retreats

Elinor Fish has worked in the travel, tourism and running industries since 1999. The Canadian ex-pat, who now calls Colorado home, has long been an avid trail runner, writer and traveler, having lived most her adult life abroad. She spent four years as the managing editor of Trail Runner magazine and founded Run Wild Retreats + Wellness in 2010. Drawing from her career in tourism marketing for such destinations as Banff and Lake Louise (Canada), the Province of Alberta and Catalina Island, California, she has grown Run Wild Retreats Inc into an international travel company offering running and wellness-focused tours in six countries.

As a writer, Elinor has written numerous magazine articles and recorded dozens of podcasts about mindful running that have helped thousands of runners make their running a mindfulness practice to reduce their stress, overcome obstacles to consistent running and improve their overall well being.

She lives in the mountain town of Carbondale, Colorado, with her mountain-bike loving son and husband, and their senior black Lab.

Mindfulness & Trail Running with Run Wild Retreats

The guided group runs are just one of many activities included in the retreat package that are a mindful movement practice, to help you be more present in this moment, in this place and your body. When you travel with us, your journey begins before even leaving home, as you follow the steps we offer to prepare for your retreat. Our expert retreat leaders accompany you for the entire retreat and are there to offer support on and off the trail. Enjoy luxurious accommodations, wonderful meals, great company and immersive experiences in some of the world’s best trail-running destinations.

Wellness around the world

Travel is an integral part of our wellness/running retreats because it allows participants to break away from their daily routines, immerse themselves in inspiring natural landscapes, and experience a change of environment. Travelling to scenic destinations enhances the overall retreat experience, fostering a deeper connection with nature and providing a rejuvenating escape from the stresses of everyday life. In addition, our international retreats offer a unique opportunity to connect with women in different countries and engage with local communities to draw inspiration from different lifestyles.

We carefully select destinations that offer a combination of stunning natural scenery, diverse running trails, and a peaceful atmosphere conducive to relaxation and self-discovery. Our chosen locations provide a unique blend of running terrain and serene surroundings, allowing participants to engage in both invigorating physical activity and mindful moments of reflection.

Single Supplement Policy

We offer retreat packages suitable for single and double occupancy. You may book a Shared Room retreat package, in which case we’ll match you with a roommate. All shared rooms have separate beds, one for each person (of course!). On many trips, we offer Private Single Room options as well. While it does cost more to have a private room, you may select this option to be sure you have a room to yourself.

The majority of our retreat participants come on their own. And while many travel companies require single travelers to pay a supplemental fee when there’s an odd number of travelers in a group, we do not. We absorb this cost so you don’t have to pay more simply because you’re traveling solo.

Two women stop to take a photo while on a hiking trip. Traveling more sustainably is one way women can make a difference in travel.
