Alaska: The Kenai Peninsula with Adventures in Good Company

No trip to Alaska is complete without a visit to the famed Kenai Peninsula! Kenai is home to giant king salmon, active volcanoes, and unsurpassed coastal wonders. We’ll start our adventure in Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city, travel to Seward, and then arrive at our yurts, framing where the ocean and forest meet. When in Kenai, we will soak in the long, sunny days, kayak to our hearts’ content, and view the stars in our remote glamping paradise. We’ll also savor locally caught fish (such as halibut and prawns). Upon our goodbye, we’ll take one last breath of fresh air and a view of the nearby Alaskan mountains.

This trip is designed for women in good health and physical condition who want to paddle Alaska’s coastline. We have designed the itinerary to minimize time in the van and all activities are moderate. The rating for this trip is a 3, The trip requires some aerobic conditioning, such as walking vigorously up hills, jogging, cross-country skiing or stair stepping for 30 – 45 minutes at least 3 – 4 times a week. Additional endurance exercise may be suggested. There are typically 4 to 6 hours of daily activity.

A multisport adventure

On this trip we combine hiking in forests and along coasts, kayaking in Humpy Cove, exploring the town of Seward, and looking for the interesting marine wildlife (not to mention moose!) that the Kenai Peninsula is known for. All activities are at a moderate level and suitable for beginners.
