Iceland Knitting Tour Workshops, Northern Lights & Réttir Sheep Round Up Experience

9-Day Knitting Retreat & Once-In-A-Lifetime Opportunity to Participate in a Community Celebration

This one-of-a-kind retreat is an immersive experience that blends expert-led knitting workshops, behind-the-scenes access to Iceland’s wool industry, and a chance to participate in a community sheep round up. Led by renowned Icelandic knitting designer Bergrós Kjartansdóttir and expert guide Ingibjörg G. Guðjónsdóttir, this journey offers the perfect balance of hands-on learning, stunning landscapes, and opportunities to meet the artisans who keep Iceland’s textile heritage alive.

Workshops, Wool Farms & Warm Evenings in Iceland

Mornings are dedicated to knitting workshops with Bergrós, where you’ll work on a shawl inspired by Norse mythology and receive a signed copy of Shawls of Myth & Magic. Afternoons take you into the heart of Icelandic culture with visits to wool farms, textile studios, and historic sites. You’ll tour the Istex Wool Factory, witness the annual sheep roundup known as réttir, and meet the woman who single-handedly saved Icelandic goats from extinction. Evenings are for relaxation—knitting, soaking in hot tubs, and watching for the northern lights.
